Abstract
GAMBOA SOLIS, Flor de María and PEREZ ABREU, Adriana Migueles. Tiempo de academia y el poder ‘poder’ de las mujeres en el desafío familia-trabajo. Las académicas de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. La ventana [online]. 2017, vol.5, n.45, pp.241-268. ISSN 1405-9436.
Family-work harmonization cannot be tackled without considering a reflection on time and its subjective inscriptions in the experience of academic women who work in higher education institutions of our country. Time is a key element however not usually challenged despite it is one of the factors that determines the type of relation whether as challenge, tension or harmony that women build between home and work. Both worlds constitute a relation that is weaved and unweaved by time and its subjective inscriptions, in which gender plays a decisive role together with social class, race or culture. Men do not perceive time in the same way as women do as well as women have different ways to look at it. This perception varies from context to context and the one, which will be tackled in this article, corresponds to the academy of the UMSNH and its correlations with the reproduction of traditional gender roles, which, thereby, does not have an impact in the transformation of family and work conditions in favour of greater equality between men and women.
