Abstract

MORANTE LOPEZ, Rubén B.. The Mesoamerican universe: Integrating concepts. Desacatos [online]. 2000, n.5, pp.31-44. ISSN 2448-5144.

Between the territories we call today Mesoamerica and Aridamerica, there is a huge ecologic barrier. The rainfall diminishes as we go north and together with it the green earth and the feracity of the soil; the agriculture production becomes more and more scarce and the risk of loosing the harvests increases. The subsistence means of man must therefore change. The attraction caused by the agricultural goods and the sources of minerals, are both part of the reasons for exchange, encounters and migrations between human groups with different views on their surroundings.
