Abstract

NOUROUDINE, Abdallah. Multi-Disciplinary Approach in the Analysis of Work and Development: An Epistemological Indiscipline. Desacatos [online]. 2002, n.9, pp.125-131. ISSN 2448-5144.

Two epistemological problems related to "work force mobilization" are the subject ofthis essay. The first problem is knowing how to access the multidimensional and complex realities in which the "work force" participates; the second raises the question ofthe necessary diversity ofknowledge to enlighten the debate on a subject at the heart ofsocial life, regardless ofthe place reserved for productive activities. Abdallah Nouroudine suggests that an unavoidable means ofaccess to understand the situation ofthe "work force" and the conditions and modalities ofits "mobility" can be found understanding work as a set ofhuman activities, historically and socially constituted. That is to say, the set ofactivities which allows human groups to satisfy their vital needs in their own milieu. This implies, on the one hand, that the "work" in "work force" emphasizes a task which goes beyond its commercial dimension in terms of employment and, on the other, that the state and statute ofthe "work force" are only understandable within the specific context which produces and mobilizes them.
