Abstract
SIERRA, María Teresa. Indigenous Women before Community Justice: an Interculturality and Rights Perspective. Desacatos [online]. 2009, n.31, pp.73-88. ISSN 2448-5144.
The new experiences of indigenous justice, within the context of legal globalization and State reform that takes place in Mexico, are creating new options for women to defend their rights, discuss their customs and rethink the traditional roles of women. The author of this paper uses an interculturality perspective to question the conceptual dualisms that surround the law and indigenous culture, which tend to justify gender inequality as a natural condition, and as a useful reference to generate proposals that support indigenous women's claims and organizational efforts, using cultural diversity and colonial differences.
Keywords : indigenous women; community justice; rights; interculturality; gender.
