Abstract

VELAZQUEZ SOLIS, Alberto C.. Religious Institutionalization of Gender in Ticul, Yucatán: A Comparative Approach within Three Religions. Desacatos [online]. 2013, n.42, pp.161-180. ISSN 2448-5144.

This paper analyzes the process in which the female-religious identities gain configuration through discourses, spaces, roles, practices, norms and status that religion sets on about the female self. Religion establish ideal kinds to be man and woman, these ways represent exclusions and inclusions, ways of being, acting, dressing, and behaving, among others. The purpose is to analyze how religion structures gender relations, not only within the religious groups, but also in everyday life.
