Abstract

CHIAPPE, Andrés  and  SANCHEZ, Jorge O.. Computer Education: Nature and Perspectives of an Interdiscipline. REDIE [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.2, pp.135-151. ISSN 1607-4041.

The purpose of this paper is to characterize the interdisciplinary nature of Computer Science Education as an epistemic category that emerges strongly both in academia and as a social practice in diverse educational contexts. We begin by establishing the components of the category and then present arguments supporting their interactions and their location in a theoretical space delimited by the supra-categories "knowledge society" and "lifelong learning". In addition, possible research approaches for generating and developing theory in this field are proposed.

Keywords : Educational informatics; educational theory; interdisciplinary approach; ICT.
