Abstract

NAVARRO ARREDONDO, Alejandro. Public-private associationes in science and technology. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.57, pp.61-93. ISSN 1665-0565.

Scientific research is capital for the production of goods with high technological content. However, R & D investment in Mexico has met significant challenges. In this sense, participation by public and private sectors is paramount to reach acceptable levels. This chapter aims to analyze recent experiences in public-private collaboration in research financing. To achieve this, the legal and institutional framework components are described for the operation of public-private associations (PPAs); finance and administrative mechanism are examined which allow this framework to exist, as well as PPA implementation in agro-industrial projects.

Keywords : associations; cooperation; science; research; institutional capacity.
