Abstract

CORDERO DIAZ, Blanca Laura  and  GOMEZ CARPINTEIRO, Francisco Javier. E. P. Thompson and the unfinished revolution. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.59, pp.9-25. ISSN 1665-0565.

This is an examination of some views by E. P. Thomson, which are central for understanding a revolution as something unfinished. The essay proposes to go beyond conventional interpretations in order to refute their limitations, suggesting also a more critical understanding on the shaping of submissive subjects. It also argues that E. P. Thompson developed a narrative on the revolution, which takes in consideration the attendant suffering and the subsequent knowledge generated in the struggle.

Keywords : Thompson; revolution; struggle; subject; knowledge.
