Abstract

SALAZAR GUTIERREZ, Salvador  and  RIVERO PENA, Héctor. Dramatized city: memory vanishing and the dominance of eventuality in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.59, pp.89-108. ISSN 1665-0565.

This article analyzes, from the perspective of cultural studies, two opposing projects about the scenario of violence in Ciudad Juárez. The first one is based on obliviousness, and it is designated here by as cynicism of eventuality; the other project is characterized by reflexive memory and promotes the recognition of the victims of violence.
