Abstract

MUNIZ PEREZ, Rafael  and  VILCHIS DIAZ, Rebeca. Necropoliticization of immunity: the karyorrhexis of sovereignty. Espiral (Guadalaj.) [online]. 2023, vol.30, n.88, pp.7-42.  Epub Jan 29, 2024. ISSN 1665-0565.  https://doi.org/10.32870/eees.v30i88.7329.

The different death practices (and their origin) that Mexican drug cartels have been using for the last two decades and their reproduction in every day social spheres, as well as their ties to the State that challenge theoretical frameworks and approaches. In this paper we attempt to think necropractices from the immunitarian framework of Roberto Esposito but radicalizing it in order to be able to attribute epistemic responsibilities for the proliferation and reproduction of the knowledge(s) of death that has reached the whole of the social.

Keywords : death practices; necropolitics; immunitarian framework; drug cartels; Karyorrhexis of sovereignty.
