Abstract

ABOVSKY, André; ALFARO RIVERA, Jorge Antonio  and  RAMIREZ MONTOYA, María Soledad. Relaciones interpersonales virtuales en los procesos de formación de investigadores en ambientes a distancia. Sinéctica [online]. 2012, n.39, pp.01-14. ISSN 2007-7033.

The article aims to present an analysis of the psychological characteristics established between advising tutors and postgraduate students in online interaction forums during the formative process of educational researchers, specifically, in the writing of their graduate thesis in a distance education model. Two theoretical constructs were established for this study: interpersonal relations and training of educational researchers in distance learning environments. The research was made using multiple qualitative case studies. The findings indicate that the online capacity for empathy and interpersonal conflict resolution by education actors, facilitated, but not positively determined the assessment process for completion of the thesis. The difficulty in showing empathy hurts and hinders the counseling process, promoting conflicting psychological states coupled with feelings of isolation and despair, that are in some cases expressed psychosomatically, resulting in failure to complete the thesis.

Keywords : virtual environments; interpersonal relationships; educational researcher training; empathic ability; conflict management.
