Abstract

SOLIS ZEPEDA, María Luisa. Negativity in Religious Discourse. Tóp. Sem [online]. 2007, n.18, pp.57-86. ISSN 2594-0619.

In this article we state the possibility, starting from the search and pursuit of the notions of negation and negativity, of speaking of a negative semantic charge like that quantity of semanticity that remains through the discourse and that in this case would be characterized by the eminence and importance of difference, of operations of negation and negative terms. A clear example of this can be found in the religious discourse of Western Christianity and specifically, in the ascetic and its Hispanic mystic aspects. This work will limit itself to reflecting on one text that is the very base for those ascetic and mystic movements after the 14th century: Imitatio Christi by Tomás de Kempis.
