Abstract
CABREJO, José Carlos. From the Orpheus Myth to the film Videodrome: Cosmovisions of Women and the Descent into Hell. Tóp. Sem [online]. 2008, n.20, pp.129-153. ISSN 2594-0619.
The essay analyzes how Videodrome and the Orpheus myth (suchas it was conceived in its most famous classical versions which are tose of Ovid and Virgil) structure the radically opposed cosmovisions starting from two common motifs: the descent into Hell and the search of the feminine object of desire. The World, alter all, cannot be seen in the same way by such an old myth centered on the representation of human beings in a natural setting and a science-fiction movie that forms a relationship of man with an artificial/technological enviroment. The approach to the objects Ander study base themselves above all on the most recent contributions of tensive semiotics.
