Abstract

YEBENES ESCARDO, Zenia. Save the Name of God?: Beyond the Corpus of Theology. Tóp. Sem [online]. 2009, n.22, pp.175-204. ISSN 2594-0619.

Apophatic or negative theology, which suggests that one can only talk to God through negations, has exerted a particular fascination over contemporary thought. In this article, we link this fascination with negation that assumes the death of God and also with the paradoxical process of secularization experienced throughout the West. Through the reading of negative theology performed by Jacques Derrida, we will observe how notions like text or name of God are reformulated and then we will question the limits of theological corpus.
