Abstract

CAMARENA GALLARDO, Patricia. Epistemology of complex impedances in engineering. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2012, vol.12, n.58, pp.35-54. ISSN 1665-2673.

This paper treats a study on epistemology, related to the genesis of complex impedances in electrical engineering. The research problem is approached from the interdisciplinary perspective of mathematics and engineering and the term epistemology is conceived according to Popper's ideas. This research is based on the theory of mathematics in the context of the sciences. The development shows how engineering needs mathematical processes to create objects that allow it to function better. We can also observe epistemological process that obtain objects linked with different areas and how various disciplinary areas contribute to build interdisciplinary processes.

Keywords : Complex impedances; epistemology; interdisciplinarity; mathematics in context; engineering; mathematics; genesis.
