MARTINEZ ALONSO, Gabriel Fernando et al. Implementation of a competency-based curriculum design model, in engineering careers. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2012, vol.12, n.60, pp.87-103. ISSN 1665-2673.

For the process of competency-based curriculum design, for the careers of the Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, a model was developed, whose starting point is the profile of egress, which includes general and specific competencies. Besides, it identifies the domains of professional performance and the development of the competencies involved in each of the formers. As a result of this process a curriculum map is produced and the units of learning are designed. Each unit should contribute to the development of one or more specific and general competencies.
