Abstract
BARRERA GARCIA, Graciela et al. Síntesis y caracterización de ferritas de mercurio obtenidas por vía hidroquímica. Superf. vacío [online]. 2005, vol.18, n.1, pp.16-25. ISSN 1665-3521.
It is possible to obtain efficiency greater than 99 % in the disposal of Hg2+ ions in water medium, by the ferrite formation process, using the optimized operational conditions of temperature at 60 °C, time of 60 minutes, air flow of 50 L/min, a stirring rate of 530 r.p.m. and working with molar ratio of [Fe+2]/[Hg2+] (in concentration) as 15 or greater ones. The logical sequence of reactions, which explain the produced process are proposed: xHg+2 + 3FeSO4 + 6NaOH + ½ O2 → Hg xFe3-xO4 +3Na2SO4 + 3H2O +x[Fe+2 total] ferrita thenardita. The chemical and stoichiometric compositions of the obtained mercury ferrites is presented.
