Abstract

JIMENEZ-ALVAREZ, F. J.; TELLEZ-JURADO, L.  and  ORTEGA-FERNANDEZ, K. A.. Uso de solventes orgánicos como dispersantes de molienda para obtener nanopartículas de puzolana natural. Superf. vacío [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.4, pp.107-112. ISSN 1665-3521.

Previous studies have reported that the reactivity of the pozzolan increases when the particle size decreases, so that in the present work was carried out grinding natural pozzolans and studied the effect of type of solvent and dispersing medium in the distribution of particle sizes. The mills used were ultrafine and the ball, while the solvents used were acetone, benzene, methanol, ethanol or isopropanol. We used a particle size analyzer and the results showed that acetone was the most appropriate dispersion medium. The particle size distribution was 1-modal with 10% of particles with average sizes of 1 µm. which indicates that the pozzolanic activity can be increased, increasing resistance to later ages.
