Abstract

Mesoporous materials MCM-41 and SBA-15 were synthesized by direct synthesis and also were modified with iron, the first at 30 °C in basic medium and the second at 95 °C in acid medium. They were characterized by various techniques, the materials showed highly ordered hexagonal structure, defined morphology and elevated surface area; their properties were due to the precursors and the media used. The H2 capture evaluation was made for one method recognized in the literature, the sorption, and it shows that iron improves it with the appropriate iron proportion Si/Fe.
