Abstract

MARTINEZ ASSAD, Carlos. El Grijalva, un río que fluye en la historia. Sig. his [online]. 2005, vol.7, n.14, pp.140-161. ISSN 1665-4420.

This article analyzes the fundamental role that has had the Grijalva in the history of Tabasco. Through a revision that starts in the Conquest of the 16th century and last until our days, Martínez Assad converts the Grijalva in a real character of the history. These are some of the variables that are analyzed in this work: the floods, the capacity that have the river systems to communicate zones of difficult access, as well as the dangers that await to this river.

Keywords : Grijalva; river culture; systems of navigation; banks; flow.
