Using prívate accountings, this article proposes the study of one case that allowed a better understanding of the management trends in a large ownership during the nineteenth century in Spain. The paper analyzes the evolution and the composition of income and expenses of the property. As a previous step to evaluate the trends and fluctuations of the rent. By this way, it is possible to find a mixed form of management, wich combines demesne and hiring. Although the great depression, interdicted this model, was no reason for landowners not to take advantage, thanks to their control over local land and labour markets.
