Abstract

LAZARIN MIRANDA, Federico. Mexico, the UNESCO and the fundamental education project from Latin America, 1945-1951. Sig. his [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.31, pp.89-115. ISSN 1665-4420.

During the UNESCO Regional Conference which took place in Mexico City (1947), the need to improve basic education in Latin America was discussed. The Mexican Committee published a book, to be used as reference, with the UNESCO history and objectives as well as the goals of the conference itself. The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze Mexico's participation in the disseminat of the Fundamental Education Project in Latin America. Mexico participated in diverse teaching international forums and proposed some projects for non-Spanish speaking ethnic groups in our continent with headquarters in Mexico.
