Abstract

MUJICA LOPEZ, Eduardo. Under the Sign of Demobilization. The U.S. Military Policy During the Reconstruction, 1863-1877. Sig. his [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.32, pp.156-182. ISSN 1665-4420.

The objective of this article is to establish the different accommodations which U.S. military policy had to undergo during the period of reconstruction, after the civil war. In order to do so it defines points of interest such as the social influence the army and the navy had, as well as the rate of increase of the armed forces about 1861; at the same time it draws the importance of demobilizing the Union army in this period.
