Abstract

This article analyzes student communities of higher education (university), considered homogeneous clusters of subjects involved in common interests, where, through a cross-sectional and descriptive research design and analyzing a random probability sample of 524 students from four Mexican higher education institutions, immersed in 18 undergraduate degree programs, determine the sociodemographic (gender, age, marital and employment status, number of household members and socioeconomic level), educational (educational attainment and achievement) and technological factors (aspects of ICT provision in its environment) affecting the level of cyberculture, identifying characteristics likely to generate educational strategies to strengthen the cyberculture process in student university communities, particularly in the initial stages of access and use, whose base facilitates growth at other levels.
