Abstract
PRADA LARA, Laura Rocío. Influence of the program platform ''More Technology'' on critical thinking. Apert. (Guadalaj., Jal.) [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.117-131. ISSN 2007-1094.
This research aimed to determine the influence of Personalized Supplementary Interconnected Learning platform in the development of critical thinking. A mixed method was used with dominant status and sequentially order with a qualitative approach in a population of 30 children of a private school which is a beneficiary of More Technology program in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The virtual platform strategy was applied immediately after the students completed a subject of language area for two weeks. The student initially had the meeting with the teacher and then proceeded to use the platform on the topics addressed in each session. The instruments used were the inventory skills Olivares and Wong (2013) that was applied as pretest and posttest and semi-structured interview for participants and teachers. These instruments measured three dimensions of critical thinking developed by Facione (2011): Interpretation and analysis; Judgment of a specific situation with objective and subjective information, and Inference of the consequences of the decision data based on self-regulated judgment. The results indicate that the platform develops skills of reflexivity, ability to perform based on objective information, selection, categorizing, and analyzing information judgments.
