Abstract

GARCIA REYNOSO, Alfonso C. et al. Método de Balanceo de Rotores Rígidos con Datos de Vibración Pulsante. Ingenier. mecáni. tecnolog. desarroll [online]. 2008, vol.3, n.1, pp.21-28. ISSN 1665-7381.

A method of rigid-rotor balancing is applied to the case where the filtered vibration data is varying in beats form due to the presence of harmonics with very similar frequencies. Vibration data are captured via a virtual analyzer that converts the vibration signal to amplitude and phase in a real time record. A balancing method is applied to these data files to obtain an average of the vibration over a complete beats cycle. This procedure is verified on a test rig that consists of two centrifugal fans with almost equal operational speeds which in turn produce vibrations in the form of beats. Balancing test results prove to be satisfactory.

Keywords : Rotor balancing; beats vibration.
