Abstract

This work is an analysis on the process of appropriation of the land among the Indian towns of the greater mayorship of La Barca during the XVII and XVIII centuries. In it, the following economic conditioners stand out: demographic and political control that gave as result an asymmetric form of the distribution of the space, also emphasizing in the relations of complementariness and shock among the towns and among these and the owners of the farms and great properties whose main productive turn was the smaller cattle ranch; relations that tended to mainly become more and more problematic during century XVIII with indigenous the demographic recovery and the necessity of more earth for the sustenance of the communities.
