Abstract

GARCIA-ORTEGA, Martha  and  CELESTINO-SOLIS, Eustaquio. The Other Trip: Death and Return between Mexican Nahuas Migrants. LiminaR [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.1, pp.41-55. ISSN 2007-8900.

It is described and analyzed the return of the bodies of dead migrants and their social implications in Nahuas communities of the Alto Balsas Region, Guerrero, in order to understand the rituals and symbolic transformations imposed by national and international migration logical where border control is evident in the administrative arrangements of national states. Documented by the field research, the issue is an incitation of thinking about the change and cultural tension from the international collective organization of an indigenous Mesoamerican people with very valid values as evidenced by the funeral ritual.

Keywords : Nahuas' communities; funerary ritual; migrants return; indigenous migration.
