Abstract

HERNANDEZ GARCIA, Mariano. The autotextuality as a generator of meanings in Ricardo Piglia’s “Prisión perpetua”. Latinoamérica [online]. 2017, n.65, pp.85-105. ISSN 2448-6914.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2017.65.56900.

In this article the author looks into the literary relationships created with the intertwining, both formal and thematic, of the two parts of Ricardo Piglia’s nouvelle “Prisión perpetua” (Perpetual Prison). The author suggests that the strategy used in the narrative generates a kind of autotextuality that, as two opposing mirrors, expands significantly the meanings of each of the two chapters that constitute the piece of writing. Furthermore, the mise en abysme and fragmentation appear as the foundations that allow a multiple and complex reading.

Keywords : Prisión perpetua; Autotextuality; Mise en abyme; Fragmentation.
