Abstract

ALONSO SORIANO, Ana Lucía. La influencia de los regímenes internacionales sobre los derechos de la infancia en el régimen de adopciones en México. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2014, vol.4, n.7, pp.284-306. ISSN 2007-8846.

This article aims to highlight the influence of the international regimes of Children's Rights in the Mexican agenda, specifically in the international child adoption system. The importance to analyze the international child adoption through an International Relations approach is that this framework provides the necessary tools to explore the influence of international regimes on the State's agenda. The principal question, which this article attempts to answer, is: if the standards, norms and principles of the international regimes related to the human rights of the children in the adoption process have influenced the Mexican Child Adoption System. Indeed, an influence in the Mexican adoption system from the international regime should be seen in the need of change and reform in the Mexican constitution and local codes in order to ensure that the international norms about transnational adoption are adopted.

Keywords : International Adoption; International regimes; children's regimes; children's rights; human rights.
