Abstract

TORRES NAVA, René Alfredo. The training of technicians at the Military Industrial School for the Porfirian industry in San Luis Potosí. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.20, pp.407-433.  Epub Mar 14, 2022. ISSN 2007-8846.  https://doi.org/10.21696/rcsl9202019996.

The aim of this paper is to show how technical education was essential in the Porfiriato industrialization project. In addition to the use of primary sources, from a theoretical methodological approach, focused on economic and cultural history, education is explained as a tool for industry. It realizes the importance of the Military Industrial School in the face of industrial development and the preparation of technicians to integrate them into the labor field. The scope of this school is shown in a national industrial context as a trainer of industrial technicians. Technical education is analyzed from a cultural and economic perspective in order to explain the project of the Military Industrial School and its mechanisms during the Porfiriato.
