Abstract

Entrepreneurial intent has received special attention for study by researchers, entrepreneurs, teachers especially as an element that promotes the creation of companies, promotes employment and makes possible economic development and growth. The objective of the study is to analyze psychological characteristics as an effect factor on entrepreneurial intent. Based on Azjen’s Theory of Planned Behavior (1991), they give rise to the relevance of this study. The research hypothesis is that the entrepreneurial intention is determined by the psychological characteristics of university entrepreneurs graduated from the different specialties of a Higher Education Institution of the city Victoria of Durango, Durango State (Mexico). The hypothetical model presented was confirmed with the Structural Equations Model technique. The results obtained confirm the hypothesis. The factors that make up the psychological characteristics analyzed are positively and significantly related to entrepreneurial intent.
