Abstract

MARTINEZ TORRES, Nelly Azalia. Analysis of Coffee Production in Huasteca Potosina in the Mexican National Context, 1989-2019. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2022, vol.12, n.23, 00022.  Epub May 27, 2024. ISSN 2007-8846.  https://doi.org/10.21696/rcsl122320221370.

The goal is to analyze the coffee production in San Luis Potosi on a national context from 1989 to 2019. We have worked with coffee production databases, at a national and Huasteca potosina levels, in order to conduct a coffee production correlation with environmental, societal and economic events in the area. Moreover, we have conducted 15 semi structured interviews with local coffee producers. Concluding that the statistical data allow a pertinent approach to the analysis of the territory, but a multidimensional look is proposed that visualizes the territory as a set of social, economic, political and cultural relations.

Keywords : peasant; coffee; indigenous; territory; agricultural production.
