Abstract

The rapid spread of privatizations throughout the world is explained in part because coincides with the generalized disillusionment with the promoter state and its excesses. The limits of the rational focus of the welfare state made it possible for the basic concepts of neo-liber economics to come to the fore once again. In Mexico, this change coincided with the beginnings President De la Madrid's administration and the discrediting of previous PRI government excesses. a| progressive, nationalist policy was abandoned and a neo-liberal policy adopted.
