Abstract
GALINDO, Luis Miguel and ROS, Jaime. The Bank of Mexico: Inflation Targeting Policy. Economía UNAM [online]. 2006, vol.3, n.9, pp.82-88. ISSN 1665-952X.
In the last decade, the monetary policy called "inflation targeting" has become the axis of monetary strategy for an important number of central banks in different parts of the world. In Latin America, several countries have moved toward a regime of inflation targeting, outstanding among which are Brazil (1999), Chile (1990), Peru (1994), Colombia (1999) and Mexico (1999). Inflation targeting monetary policy implies the Central Bank's commitment to achieving an inflation rate goal proposed at the beginning of the year, using the entire spectrum of instruments at its disposal.
