Abstract

ROITMAN, Benito. Notes on the Recent Latin American Economic Thought. Economía UNAM [online]. 2007, vol.4, n.11, pp.21-46. ISSN 1665-952X.

The author reviews the main approaches of the Latin American economic thought since World War II. He examines how the structuralism, the socialism and the neoliberalism have interacted and influenced the regional economic policy. When studying the current Latin America situation, the author discusses the globalization, raises some paradoxes, and concludes with some final reflections about the current Latin American thought. He emphasizes that the continent continues in the search of a development project that reverts the regional conditions of poverty and inequality.
