Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, María Teresa. China: Economic Policies for the Promotion of the External Sector. Economía UNAM [online]. 2008, vol.5, n.13, pp.42-68. ISSN 1665-952X.

China has successfully opened its economy and rapidly increased its participation in international goods, services and capital markets through the systematic application, for more than twenty five years, of macro and microeconomic policies. These policies have led to promotion of foreign trade and to the arrival of a huge influx of Foreign Direct Investment. Apart from the benefit that its opening has brought to the Chinese economy, it has also had a great impact on other economies of the world - negative for the exporters of manufactured goods and positive for the producers of raw materials. The question is if this impact has been positive or negative on the rest of the world.
