Abstract

SANDOVAL, Edgar. Time and Politics: On Social Change and Political Regimes. Andamios [online]. 2005, vol.2, n.3, pp.143-158. ISSN 2594-1917.

This article discusses some considerations about time and its implication in social change and mobility of political regimes. The hypothesis is that social changes don't come from governments, but from the memory of people. Therefore, governments concern about preserve memory or, in some cases, reconstruct it according to their own interests. Thus, the idea of past, present, and future has a close relationship with politics.

Keywords : Time; duration; social change; political regime; political memory.
