Abstract

VELAZQUEZ RAMIREZ, Adrián. Thinking political representation as citizenship: notes for a conceptual historical debate. Andamios [online]. 2017, vol.14, n.35, pp.43-69. ISSN 2594-1917.

By addressing the Giuseppe Duso work on the concept of political representation, the article aims to discuss the problem of the political presence of the citizen. To aim this task we show the internal connection between the representative nature of the modern form and the historical emergence of a concept of citizen that emphasizes its political and material dimension. By this way, we dont seek to oppose political representation to a external concept of participation, but to search in the interior conditions whitin this concept the way to think the problem of citizen. To address these subjets we propose to work on the distinction between political and conceptual order which will serve as a way of exploring the political representation dynamics in modern democracy.
