Abstract

TREVINO RONZON, Ernesto  and  TOLENTINO RODARTE, Manuel. The place of the political in the public policy discourse. Andamios [online]. 2017, vol.14, n.35, pp.99-121. ISSN 2594-1917.

This paper presents a conceptual reflection on the notion of the political and its possibilities to rethink the public policies discourse. Public policies have been integrated into a particular democratic discourse that, while defending social development, has deactivated certain forms of social politics and, along with other political processes, have called into question the relevance of dissent, favoring the consensus and a managerial approach to public problems. It is important to remember that in democracy there is not only policy and politics, but also the political, which is a referent to think about the processes of political reactivation that can be expressed as disagreement, conflict or antagonism. The political can serve to rethink the predominant approach to public policies.

Keywords : Public policies; the political; political ontology; social development.
