The objective of the present study is to analyze the current scenario of workplace violence suffered by women workers in Mexico from two approaches; one, to be target of mistreatment, discrimination and harassment by their employers, subordinates or co-workers; another, like a victims of inequality respect to the work conditions for their gender condition. From a qualitative approach presents a theoretical review consisting of three sections; the first conceptualized the workplace violence; the second presents the reality of working women in Mexico; and the third deals the current legal provisions in the matter. It is concluded that, on par with the legislation, strategies, must emerge from public policies, focused on the modification of the culture of Mexican society that favors the elimination of workplace and gender violence behaviors, starting with the ability to recognize them when they occur.
