Abstract

SUAREZ MARTINEZ, José Mario. Multicultural paradoxes and political subjects. A balance of afrodiaspora in the mexican national territory in the period 2015-2020. Andamios [online]. 2021, vol.18, n.45, pp.77-96.  Epub Sep 27, 2021. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v18i45.811.

For the Afro-diaspora, the Mexican State has presented itself as a containment entity that displays a series of practices that oscillate between the reaffirmation of its multicultural condition with the recognition of Afro-Mexicans, and the development of certain governmental exercises of administration, containment, extermination and even the reproduction of racist speeches against Afro-migrants. The present work tries to describe from an intersectional point of view, what are the state political paradoxes in the face of the Afro-diaspora, as well as the assemblages of the subjects -Afro-Mexicans and Afro-migrants- that participate in it, through a historical and conceptual analysis in the period 2015- 2020.

Keywords : Afro diaspora; afro-Mexicans; afro-migrants; paradox; racismo; multiculturalism; agency.
