Abstract
COVARRUBIAS, Israel and GALLEGOS CRUZ, Cristhian. On the frontiers of the political: Carlos Pereyra and the democratic question in the Mexico of the seventy-eighty. Andamios [online]. 2021, vol.18, n.45, pp.343-371. Epub Sep 27, 2021. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v18i45.821.
The article discusses the theoretical contributions made by the political philosopher Carlos Pereyra on the democratic question. From the reconstruction of the political-intellectual context of the seventies and eighties of the last century in Mexico, the work of this author is problematized with the aim of elucidating the place that his theoretical work occupies in a particular historical moment of incipient concern for political change. Specifically, we analyze the contribution of his thought in the construction of the meaning adopted by the social logic of democracy in a space of cultural and militant dynamism. Finally, it is argued that the recovery of the political ideas of that time allows a most better understanding of some of the main directions in which the debates on the political regime, the State and political and social actors moved in the decades that covered the process of Mexican democratization.
