Abstract

CASTELLI RODRIGUEZ, Luisina. Corporality and micropolitics in the work of an artist with disabilities. Andamios [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.49, pp.189-214.  Epub June 05, 2023. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v19i49.917.

The article proposes to study the relationship between corporeality and micropolitics in the work of the Argentinean plastic artist Daniel Salvatierra, taking into account his disability. Based on an analysis of the works and information from successive exchanges with the artist, it analyzes the ways in which he shares and resignifies experiences centered on his body in a public way. The text emphasizes that creative processes constitute, before being a tool to show a given situation, a domain where new relations can be built. Finally, it concludes by arguing the importance of developing interpretative frameworks that draw on instability and reject fixed positions in order to understand the corporeality and politicization of the practices and feelings of people with disabilities.

Keywords : Plastic arts; corporeality; disability; micropolitics; agency.
