Abstract
CALDERON COCKBURN, Julio; VALENCIA LEON, Ivonne and CAMPOS, Edwin Gabriel. The submarkets of informal allotations on agricultural land in Lima, Peru, 1990-2020. Andamios [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.50, pp.341-366. Epub Sep 29, 2023. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v19i50.984.
The article deals with the study of the informal sub-market of agricultural land in the city of Lima. The theoretical framework considers the process of commodification that Peruvian society and cities go through and places submarkets under the understanding of sociological concepts such as "field" and habitus. It exposes a brief state of the art of the Latin American approach and the methodological considerations of a mostly qualitative study. The case study Chacarilla del Norte in the district of Carabayllo, Lima, is addressed and makes a comparison with other formal and informal land sub-markets.
Keywords : Commodification; informal land markets; Lima; agricultural land; urban sprawl.
