Abstract

BERNAD I GARCIA, Joan Carles; MOLPECERES PASTOR, Mariángeles  and  MARTINEZ MORALES, Ignacio. Resignification of work discourses. Andamios [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.50, pp.367-388.  Epub Sep 29, 2023. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v19i50.985.

In this paper, we discuss discourses about work in teachers of basic vocational education, framing this field within current transformations of active policies to prevent and fight unemployment. The empirical material, obtained through 50 interviews with 25 subjects, is analyzed from the viewpoint of transformations that emergent normativity in the labor market is inducing in traditional discourses about work. Three different kinds of classical discourse are identified, the first conceiving work as dedication, the second conceiving work as employment, and as the third conceiving work as trade. However, each of them is found to show significant mutations linked to emergent rationales in flexible capitalism.

Keywords : Work conceptions; justification rationales; activation policies; discourse analysis; flexible capitalism.
