Abstract

In the first decades of 20th century, Mexico underwent a period of transition where it took place the abandonment of the magistral formula prepared from medicinal plants, and occurred the assimilation process of the drug produced by pharmaceutical industry. In this paper we analyzed the first laws of mexican government to regulate the industrial drug in this country. This study was realized by reviewing the legal system applicable to pharmaceutical products of the time. The reviewed period starts in 1926 with the publication of the fourth Sanitary Code, and concludes in 1937, when the irst Register of Medicinal Products comes to an end.
