While several governments in the region emerged with a national and popular discourse with aspirations of economic growth with wealth distribution and expansion, along with social welfare and a consolidation of democracy; little by little this discourse bagan to fade away, in large part through a series of public policies in the economic, political and social spheres, and as provoked by the devastating force of contemporary capitalism. This situation is now characterizing XXI century capitalism in Latin America.
