Abstract

PEREZ AGUILAR, Audrey  and  RUIZ DIAZ, Roberto. Expansion of the palatine maxilar suture surgically assisted. Rev. Odont. Mex [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.4, pp.199-216. ISSN 1870-199X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fo.1870199xp.2008.12.4.15629.

A combination of an orthodontic appliance and a surgical technique makes easy the expansion of the palatine maxilar suture in adults. In this procedure a maxilar corticotomy is done; and a Hyrax‡ screw is used to obtain the expansion. The separation of the suture is confirmed by taking an oclussal X-ray, and it is also confirmed observing the separation of the maxillary central upper incisors.

Keywords : Fast palatine expansion; Hyrax screw.
