Abstract

MERINO SEGOVIA, Amparo. The impact of the crisis on employ: Economic integration, welfare State and measures to promote employment. Rev. IUS [online]. 2014, vol.8, n.33, pp.59-76. ISSN 1870-2147.

The economic crisis has conditioned the welfare State. High levels of unemployment, poverty social exclusion and the national policies hinder the welfare State as a political, social and economic construction. One of the most severe expressions of this situation is the structural unemployment, for which eradication, the measures of fiscal stimulus and that of "promoting employment" developed by European countries have shown their ineffectiveness. The new regulation of wage labour has not been able to reduce the effects of the fall of economic activity, and has neither helped to minimize job losses. The problem of dismissal and dual labour market can not be simplified in business profit, regardless of the effect on the rights of affected workers, or the social impact of unemployment.

Keywords : Welfare State; labor costs; flexibility duality; dismissal; temporality.
